UNITAMS official: We support any effort to achieve Sudanese consensus

Sheikh Al-Tayeb Al-Jid, the sponsor of the Sudanese People’s Call for National Consensus Initiative, has met with the advisor of the Head of United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS), Volker Perthes, and presented to her a briefing on the goals of the initiative that aims to achieve inclusive consensus among all Sudanese.

He added that the initiative seeks a consensus that leads the Sudan to a transitional government that will oversee the organization of general elections.

This came on the sidelines of a briefing meeting for the diplomatic missions in Sudan, which was held by Sheikh Al-Tayeb Al-Jid at his residence at Um-Dhawanban today.

For her part, the UNITAMS’ official affirmed support of the mission for any effort to achieve consensus in Sudan.
