OHCHR organizes a workshop on the Arab Charter
The National Human Rights Commission, in cooperation with the Arab Human Rights Commission (Charter Committee), will organize a foundation training workshop on “The Arab Charter on Human Rights and the Role of the Arab Human Rights Commission in the Implementation of the Charter”, to be held at the Grand Holiday Villa Hotel from 22 to 23 August 2022.
Dr. Rafat Mirghani Abbas, President of the National Human Rights Commission, said that the workshop will start on 8 a.m. on Monday and last for two days, targeting 50 persons of both sexes from representatives of civil society organizations, the media, government institutions and the regular forces.
The workshop dealt with the definition of the Arab Charter on Human Rights and its importance, the mechanism for submitting periodic reports from ratifying States and the role of the Arab Commission on Human Rights.
Adherence to the Charter’s reports and interaction between the Government and civil society organizations with the Charter Committee with a view to the implementation of the Arab Charter on the ground.
