President of the Sovereign Council receives telephone call from Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs
The President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al Burhan, received a telephone call today from Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Mary Catherine Phee, confirming the United States Administration’s support for the transition process in Sudan.
The President of the Sovereign Council pledged his commitment to complete the transition phase towards the democratic transition phase and renewed his commitment to support the tripartite mechanism’s efforts as well as other efforts by the Sudanese to achieve national consensus. Al-Burhan thanked the Secretary of State and the United States of America’s interest in Sudan.
