Ibrahim Jaber meets Djiboutian president
Member of the Transitional Sovereign Council The envoy of the President of the Council to the IGAD States, Lieutenant General Bahri Engineer Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim stressed the strength of Sudanese-Djiboutian relations and Khartoum’s desire to strengthen them in the political and economic fields.
In a press statement, Mr. Ismail Omar Qili, President of the Republic of Djibouti, said that he had briefed President Qili on the objectives of his IGAD tour and on the developments in the organization and the conferences expected to be held at the organization’s presidency or in Khartoum on November 30.
He would inform the IGAD Heads of State of the Food Security Initiative, which had been agreed to be implemented, and affirmed the Sudan’s readiness to do so in the light of its resources and the availability of coordination and support from regional and international organizations.
The member of the Sovereign Council added that the meeting addressed the areas of cultural cooperation between the two countries, indicating that most Djibouti ministers graduated in the Sudan, which is a great opportunity to strengthen cooperation in this area.
