The governance and administration sector discusses the issues of human trafficking and the protection of Sudanese abroad
The Government and Administration Sector of the Council of Ministers headed by Minister of Justice Maulana Mohamed Said Al-Hilu reviewed a report on the efforts of the National Commission to Combat Human Trafficking in the Sudan (2022-2021) was submitted by the representative of the Ministry of Labour, Maulana Maha Sadik Blue, who explained that the Committee had developed a three-year plan (2022 2023 2021) aimed at preventing human trafficking and protecting victims, criminal prosecution of human traffickers as well as participation at the regional and international levels.
The plan included the objectives and activities to be implemented by a number of ministries, government institutions and foreign organizations in this regard. The sector heard a report about the visit of the delegation of the national mechanism for the protection of Sudanese abroad to Saudi Arabia. The Secretary-General of the Overseas Workers’ Authority, Dr. Makeen Hamid Terab, explained that the visit was part of providing protection and support to Sudanese abroad and regulating their situation in the countries of diaspora by establishing legislation, policies and controls to regulate the emigration of Sudanese abroad in order to adapt the needs of labour markets.
Dr. D. ‘ The Committee’s visit included several meetings with officials and specialists and a number of Sudanese communities and associations along with Sudanese affected by the failure to implement judicial decisions.
The Sector recommended the need for women workers’ attachés and continued overseas visits to determine the situation of Sudanese abroad.
