Foreign Ministry Congratulates on International Women’s Day
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has congratulated the Sudanese women and women of the world on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of International Women’s Day, which the world celebrates on March 8 every year.
In a statement it issues on Wednesday, the ministry stated that the world’s celebration of this occasion affirms the role of women in the society and their professional, political, social and cultural rights.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has lauded the struggles of Sudanese women, as the women’s movement in Sudan was at the forefront in all aspects of political, social, economic, and cultural life, and in the civil service.
The Foreign Ministry hoped that the efforts of Sudanese women will continue towards achieving the goals of the women movement.
The ministry wished mercy for those women of the first generation of Sudanese women who passed away who have laid down the first brick in achieving the aspirations of Sudanese women towards justice, equality and active participation in Sudanese society, adding that and their efforts will remain a beacon that lights the way for future generations.
“Greetings is to every woman in her home and workplace in the cities and distant countryside, as she struggles for the renaissance of her society for the better”, the statement said
