The army is advancing in Khartoum and the Rapid Support Forces are controlling a military garrison in Darfur
On Monday, the Sudanese army announced its control of Al-Arbaeen Street in Omdurman, while the Rapid Support Forces confirmed their control of a military garrison in North Darfur.
Eyewitnesses reported renewed violent battles and artillery shelling between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in the three cities of the capital, Khartoum, Khartoum North and Omdurman.
The sounds of heavy weapons did not stop in Al-Ghaba Street, the Industrial Area, and Al-Hillah Al-Jadida, west of Khartoum. Omdurman also witnessed clashes and successive explosions were heard in the south of the city, and in the Bahri region, north of Khartoum.
Earlier Monday, the Sudanese army confirmed the restoration of control of the Al-Nujomi military base in Jabal Awlia, south of Khartoum, after fierce battles with the Rapid Support Forces.
On the other hand, the Rapid Support Forces announced, on Monday, the control of the garrison of the 22nd Infantry Brigade in the city of Kutum, in the state of North Darfur.
Khartoum and other cities have been witnessing, since April 15, clashes between the army led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces led by Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo (Hamidti), which left hundreds dead and thousands injured among civilians, in addition to a new wave of displacement and asylum.
