Expansion of Port Sudan Airport

The Engineering Ports Company has begun maintenance and rehabilitation work on Port Sudan Airport, including expanding the aircraft parking area, paving the main entrance to the airport, and extending the runway.

This move comes in implementation of the Sovereign Council’s decision to establish a committee to rehabilitate Port Sudan International Airport to accommodate all variables in light of the country’s war conditions.

It is worth mentioning that a decision was issued by the Sovereign Council to open the airspace for the eastern sector of the country following a four-month closure since the outbreak of the war in April of this year.
