A total Internet and communications outage in the Sudan due to the Rapid Support Forces
The Sudan has gone into total isolation of telecommunications and Internet services this morning, with the exception of unofficial Starlink Internet users, local sources said.
The city of Port Sudan is in isolation from the administrative centre of the State of the Red Sea due to the disruption of mobile communications networks and the Internet for days, which constitutes an obstacle to citizens, traders and government institutions’ implementation of their work and services.
Several residents of the city said zain telecommunications network was the only one to operate for a limited time last Monday and was again interrupted by deliberate vandalism.
They noted that other telecommunications networks such as MTN and sudani had not operated for days without the responsible authorities explaining the reasons for the outage.
The Government of the Sudan Spokesman Platform said yesterday that the process of repatriating the “sudani” and MTN networks is coming to an end, adding that the network’s feeding system will be changed for states across the sea in order to avoid repeating the recent rapid support militia by sabotaging telecommunications networks.
