Sudan participates in the meeting of the African Standardization Organization
The Sudanese Commission for Standards and Standards participated in the meeting of the African Standardization Organization (ARZO) in the Cameroonian capital of Yaoundé in early July.
Ms. Rahba Said Abdullah, Acting Director General of the Commission, revealed that the 28th meeting elected a new chairman of the African Standardization Organization ARSO, Professor Alex Dodoo of Ghana, who pledged to develop African standards to promote trade, eliminate unemployment and poverty by relying on African products, not exporting raw materials from African countries and reducing demand for products imported outside Africa Africa.
The organization’s new Council was also elected and its plan for the next five years was adopted, 2022-2027.
She welcomed the willingness of both Somalia and South Sudan to share experiences and training in the Sudanese Specifications Authority.
It also met with the American Testing Association (ASTM) to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Sudan to benefit from the Society’s specifications and contribute to the rehabilitation of the technical workforce of the Sudanese Authority for Standards and Standards.
