ALBurhan meets the Director of African Affairs at the British Foreign Office
The President of the Sovereign Council, General Abdul Fattah Al Burhan, met with his office today, Director of African Affairs at the British Foreign Office, Mr. Simon Mastard
Ambassador Abdulwahab Mohamed al-Hijazi, Director General of European and American Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a press statement that the meeting dealt with developments in the internal situation in the Sudan and how Britain, through its position in the international community, contributed to supporting the Sudan’s dialogue process.
The possibility of taking advantage of its experiences in advancing dialogue towards the goals and objectives awaited by the Sudanese people.
Ambassador Hijazi added that the meeting addressed developments at the regional level, particularly in a number of neighbouring countries surrounding the Sudan, and the role that the Sudan could play in promoting peace and stability in the region.
The Director of the Department of European and American Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the meeting also touched on the development of bilateral relations between the Sudan and the United Kingdom and the promotion of prospects for joint cooperation in all areas.
The meeting stressed the need to take advantage of the specificity of the relations between the two countries in strengthening cooperation in many files, locally, regionally and internationally, and to strengthen coordination between them for the benefit of the two friendly countries and peoples.
