Minister of Minerals International Companies Express Desire to Invest in Minerals
The Minister of Minerals, Mohamed Bashir Abu-Namu, revealed that a number of international companies have expressed their desire to invest in the field of minerals in Sudan.
In his address at the International Mining Conference in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, which he affirmed the flexibility of the Sudanese Investment Law and its inclusion of all the legal frameworks that preserve the rights of foreign investors, especially in the field of minerals, pointing to Sudan natural resources and investment opportunities, as well as the facilities provided by the Sudanese government to companies and investors in the field of mining.
He referred to the efforts of the Sudanese government to organize and legalize the traditional mining sector, by including the traditional miners in cooperative societies and issuing identity cards, in order to offer them spaces for small mining operations.
The Minister explained that the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Ltd. Assumed the technical support operations for local and international companies in all stages of the mining process, which includes the discovery and exploration stage, the development and the production stages.
