UN to provide assistance to Sudan in digitization and economic models
The Undersecretary of Economic Planning at the Ministry of Finance, Mohamed Bashar Mohamed, discussed with the mission of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNEC) headed by Dr. Susanna Shoderft, Director of the North Africa Office of the Committee, the needs of Sudan in the areas of training in the institutional field, and the overall policies of the concerned countries, and it was agreed with the Economic Committee to assist Sudan in a number of activities, including digitization and economic models, in addition to helping to establish planning institutions in Sudan.
The Undersecretary of Planning noted that in the year 2015, a memorandum of understanding agreement was signed with the committee and Sudan, and it stopped due to the conditions of the corona and the political conditions that Sudan is going through, adding it will be restarted to take advantage of the capabilities of the Economic Committee in various fields, as Sudan is one of the arms of the committee in Africa, and to technically help Sudan in resolving his foreign debts.
This came during his meeting with the mission of the United Nations Economic Commission North Africa Office headed by Dr. Susanna Shoderft, Director of the North Africa Office of the Committee, in the presence of the committee staff and the Director of the General Department of External Finance, Mirghani Jalloud.
Meanwhile, Dr. Susanna Schauderft, indicated that the priorities of the Economic Commission are represented in studies related to food security that apply to Sudan’s priorities in food security.
