Algeria’s declaration affirms the centrality of the Palestinian issue and Saudi Arabia hosts the upcoming summit
The Final Communiqué of the Arab Summit held in Algeria, issued today at the conclusion of the Summit, affirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause and the absolute support for the rights of the Palestinian people and the need to adhere to the Arab Peace Initiative in all its elements and priorities.
The Algiers Declaration stressed the need to continue efforts and endeavours to protect the occupied city of Jerusalem and its sanctities. It also called for the promotion of joint Arab action to protect Arab national security in its comprehensive sense and in all its dimensions, and stressed the rejection of foreign interventions in all their forms in the internal affairs of the Arab States.
The Saudi Foreign Minister announced his country’s hosting of the upcoming Arab summit.
In his statement at the conclusion of the summit, President Abdelmajid Tebboune of Algeria said that the Algiers Summit was an important stop for strengthening Arab solidarity, stressing “the support of our sister Qatar who is preparing to host the World Cup.”

The Arab Summit reaffirms the centrality of the Palestinian cause and the absolute support for the rights of the Palestinian people.
Emphasize adherence to the Arab Peace Initiative in all its elements and priorities.
Emphasize the need to continue efforts and endeavours to protect the occupied city of Jerusalem and its sanctities;
- Emphasize the adoption and support of the State of Palestine’s approach to full membership in the United Nations.
To promote joint Arab action to protect Arab national security in its comprehensive sense and in all its dimensions.
- Rejection of foreign interventions in all their forms in the internal affairs of Arab States;
- The need to strengthen the Arab League to exercise its role in resolving crises.
- To commit to redouble efforts to reflect the Arab economic integration project in accordance with a comprehensive vision that ensures the optimal utilization of Arab economies’ determinants and the precious opportunities they offer, with a view to the full operationalization of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area in preparation for the establishment of the Arab Customs Union;
To express full solidarity with the Libyan people and to support efforts aimed at ending the Libyan crisis.
To affirm the support of the legitimate Government of Yemen and the blessing of the formation of the Presidential Leadership Council;
Support the pursuit of a political solution to the Yemeni crisis in accordance with the terms of reference adopted and emphasize the need to renew the armistice.
- The Arab States’ collective leadership role in contributing to the efforts to achieve a political solution to the Syrian crisis;
Welcome the revitalization of Iraq’s constitutional life, including the formation of a government.
Renewed solidarity with Lebanon to maintain its security and support its steps to extend its sovereignty over its land and maritime territories.
Emphasize the need to establish a Middle East zone free of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction.
- The price of OPEC +’s balanced policy to ensure the stability of global energy markets and the sustainability of investments in this sensitive sector within an economic approach that ensures the protection of the interests of both producing and consuming countries.
- Emphasized the need to unite efforts to combat terrorism and extremism in all its forms and to dry up its sources of financing and to mobilize the international community within an integrated approach based on adherence to the norms of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
- Adherence to the principle of non-alignment in the Ukrainian-Russian crisis.
- To commend the Green Middle East initiative launched by Saudi Arabia, announcing the Arab States’ support for Saudi Arabia hosting the Expo 2030.
