A decline in the rate of inflation
The annual inflation rate declined to (117.42 %) last August, compared to (125.41%) in July. The Central Bureau of Statistics said in a statement on Thursday that the price index of consumer and service goods for the food and beverage group recorded (37873.67) points for the month of August 2022, while it was (20834.98) points in August 2021, an increase of (17,038.69) points.
Thus, the inflation rate has declined for the fifth month in a row Sudan suffers from inflation rates that reach record levels, amid the decline in the purchasing power of the local currency, the Sudanese pound, and the rise of the dollar.
