A delegation of Darfur Government in El Fasher to discuss the demands of the protesters in Zamzam camp
A delegation from the Darfur regional government arrived in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, to meet the protestors of Zamzam camp, who closed the road linking the two cities of El Fasher and Nyala for more than ten days, demanding to address a number of issues related to security and humanitarian aspects. and service.
The delegation was headed by the Minister of Health of the Darfur Regional Government, Babiker Hamdeen, and included in his side the advisor to the governor of the region for security affairs and the membership of the parties to the peace process of Juba Agreement.
Upon arrival, the delegation took a closed meeting with the State Security Committee and a number of officials. The head of the delegation, Babiker Hamdeen, said in a press statement that their visit to El Fasher came under direct directives from the regional governor, Mini Arko Minawi, with the aim of finding a radical solution to Zamzam sit-in, noting that the delegation included representatives of the parties to the peace process in Darfur and members of the regional government, along with a number of civil administration representatives, including king. Yasser Hussain Ahmadi, King Siddiq Rahmatullah, Sheikh Hammad Abdullah Jibril and others.
He said that during the meeting with the State Security Committee, they listened to a detailed explanation about the efforts made to contain the crisis. It is noteworthy that IDPs in Zamzam camp, 15 km southwest of El Fasher city, recently entered an open sit-in to demand security, protection of the agricultural season, and improvement of water, health and education services.
The delegation is expected to visit the sit-in in order to listen to their demands in preparation for finding radical solutions to their problems.
