After his participation in the IGAD summit in Nairobi – Al-Burhan returns to the country
The President of the Sovereignty Council and the current head of the IGAD Organization, Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, returned Tuesday evening to the country, after his participation in the IGAD emergency summit that concluded today in Nairobi. With the participation of heads of state and government of the member states of the organization.
Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq, Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge, said in a press statement that the summit, which concluded in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, was one of the most successful summits of IGAD since its formation in 1986, noting that the leaders of the organization’s countries and governments all agreed to intensify cooperation among member states to face the challenges and problems facing the region.
The designated foreign minister explained that the leaders of countries and governments at the summit praised the great role played by Sudan in organizing and making the summit a success and leading the work of the organization despite the complex political conditions that Sudan and the countries of the region are going through. Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq noted that the summit agreed that Khartoum would be the headquarters of the IGAD health emergency.
