Al-Burhan confirms Sudan’s consistent position in condemning all forms of extremism and terrorism
General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, reaffirmed Sudan’s firm and unequivocal position in condemning all forms of extremism, terrorism and criminal activities The Sudan has played a major and pioneering role in working for the stability and security of the African continent.
Through its response to the phenomenon of terrorism, illegal migration and all forms of transnational organized crime, based on its own efforts and potential and its cooperation with friends and brothers for peace and security at the African and international levels.
Addressing the Corinthia Hotel in Khartoum today, Al-Burhan said the opening session of the workshop on the role of immunization and intellectual treatment in the fight against terrorism, organized by the General Intelligence Service, in coordination with the African Security and Intelligence Services CommitteeAl-Sisa said that the holding of this workshop coincides with the Sudan’s anticipation of a new phase, in which the Sudanese people eagerly aspire to a comprehensive national consensus, in which all political, community and youth forces would participate to contribute to the formation of a full civilian government, which would complete the transition phase and arrange free and fair elections that would meet the aspirations and hopes of the Sudanese people.
The Sudan, like other States, was confronted with the phenomenon of violent extremism and terrorism and was making great efforts to combat those phenomena through various means, including the security services. The enactment of a number of legislation and laws and the ratification of several regional, international and bilateral conventions indicating that the Sudan has established several mechanisms to control borders with neighbouring States to work together within the regional and international system to combat terrorism and extremism.
Al-Barhan reaffirmed the Sudan’s commitment to confront all forms of terrorism by all possible and available means, in particular through the curriculum of intellectual dialogue, and to support and develop the experience of intellectual processing initiated and operated by the Sudan, which has achieved fruitful results and positive action among groups targeted by terrorist groups with a view to neutralizing them.
“We are fully convinced and confident, and we believe in the African Security and Intelligence Services Committee (CESA) that it has the potential and expertise to deal with the phenomena of terrorism, extremism, transit crime and illegal migration and to overcome all security challenges on the African continent by cooperating, coordinating, strengthening and promoting relations by working hard and sincerely to combat these phenomena.
