Al-Burhan travels to Nairobi to participate in the 39 Emergency IGAD Summit
General Abdul Fatah al-Burhan, President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, current Chairman of the Government Development Authority, travelled this morning to the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, to participate in the emergency summit of IQAD, which begins today with the participation of the leaders of the organization’s member States and Governments.
The summit will discuss issues and files that contribute to enhancing leaders’ efforts to address the region’s challenges of peace and security, drought, desertification and climate change issues, as well as food security and the consequences of the coronavirus and its impact on the economic situation in the region.
The President of the Transitional Sovereign Council will also conduct bilateral interviews with the Council’s heads of State and Government of the Organization.
The Summit will also discuss how Member States can work together to overcome the problems and challenges in the region and find ways to advance the region and achieve security, stability, cooperation and joint coordination on regional and international issues for the benefit of the region’s peoples.
He was farewell to Khartoum International Airport, General Mohammed Ghali Ali Yusuf, Secretary-General of the Transitional Sovereign Council.
