Expanding the magnitude of battles in Sudan
The battlefield expanded on Tuesday between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces to include North Kordofan and South Darfur, while warnings increased of the deteriorating humanitarian situation and the need for 7 million people for aid.
An informed source reported that the Sudanese army bombed with drones this Tuesday morning sites belonging to the Rapid Support Forces in the eastern Al-Jarif area in Khartoum state.
Local sources said that the army struck targets of the Rapid Support Forces on 60th Street, east of Khartoum.
Plumes of smoke also rose in the center of Khartoum, coinciding with an exchange of heavy weapons shelling between the army and the Rapid Support.
The source added that the army repelled the Rapid Support Forces from the Wad Ashana area in North Kordofan, forcing those forces to flee.
The Sudanese army spokesman accused the Rapid Support Forces of using the uniforms of regular forces from the army, security and police to commit crimes and attach them to the army.
