Hemedti supervises El Geneina Peace Cup match

The Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, honored the peace match that brought together the Al Hilal and Al Marreikh teams, this evening, Saturday, at El Geneina Stadium, as part of the celebration of peace and stability of El Geneina, west of Darfur.

Daglo revived the memory of the capital club, Al-Marikh Al-Salam Cup, after defeating the invitation of Al-Hilal, with the goal of its star Mohamed Hashem Al-Takat. And the fans that filled the sides of the stadium painted a painting that confirmed their determination to abandon identity, tribalism and racism and work together for a united Sudan.

The Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Major General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, sent a message to all athletes that sport should be the tribe that unites and does not divide and expresses peace and love, and said: “Let us agree with some without tribe, let us participate in the peace dialogue as Sudanese to choose who represents us in the government”. Recalling that the Peace Sports Tournament is a message that peace is a goal in a homeland that everyone can achieve, pointing out that the peace summit that brought together Al Hilal and Al Mirikh team for the first time in El Geneina was evidence of their recovery from conflicts ,stability and unity.

Hamdati also renewed the call for the return of the displaced and refugees to their areas and villages after the justification for their presence had disappeared from their areas of origin.

For his part, the governor of West Darfur State, Abd Elgadier Khamis Abkar, called on the citizens of the state to reject hatred, identity and racism, and to adhere to peace that calls for love and recognition of others and to return to open a new page and break differences.

Khamis called on the central government to pay attention to West Darfur through its support and assistance in the service and development fields. He expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Lieutenant-General Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, members of the Sovereign Council, Dr. Hadi Idris, Professor Taher Abu Bakr Hajar, and all those who contributed to achieving security and peace in the country.

At the end of the match, several awards were presented to the stars of both teams. The Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, was honored by the Local Football Association in West Darfur.
