Meeting of the Advisory Committee of the East Stabilization Project of the Ministry of Agriculture in the presence of FAo
This morning, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry held the periodic meeting of the East States Stabilization Project Advisory Committee chaired by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Dr. Abubakar Omar Al-Bashri, in the presence of the Resident Representative of the Food and World Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, FAO O O O. White Nile, Blue Nile, Gedaref, Kassala and Port Sudan.
Al-Shubra welcomed all-state managers and commended the great role played by them, stressing that agriculture depended on them as ministers for their duty and giving.
For his part, Mr. Baba Qana Ahmadou, Resident Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), noted Sudan’s enormous resources and challenges to optimal exploitation, including climate change, economic crises and COVID- 2019.
FAO was fully prepared to support the Sudan’s food security initiative.
Dr. Fatima Al-Hassan, Secretary-General of the Ministry’s Technical Secretariat for Food Security, stated that the objective of the meeting was to present the implementation position of the project in these mandates. She said that the meeting of the Consultative Committee of the East Stability Project to Support Decision-making in Food Security was initiated by FAO and included the heads of state production and planning boards.
The meeting concluded that these problems should be resolved in order to achieve the Sudan’s food security initiative.
