Meeting of the Supreme Committee for the Follow-up of the National Plan for the Protection of Children
The Minister for Foreign Affairs in charge, Ambassador Ali Sadik Ali, chaired the second meeting of the High-level High Committee to follow up on the National Plan for the Protection of Children and the Prevention of Violations in Situations of Armed Conflict.
The meeting discussed the level of implementation of previous costs, notably the reformulation of the budget and the compilation of documents on the national road map for the prevention of grave violations against children in armed conflict.
The meeting also approved the budget for the implementation of the road map, including the operational procedures and strategic framework for the protection of children in armed conflict.
The meeting comes in the light of Sudan’s support for children’s rights and confirmation of its commitment to all international child protection mechanisms and instruments, and in preparation for the visit of the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy for Children in Conflict in the Sudan in the coming period.
