Ministry of Education: Postponing the start of the school year
The Minister of Education in charge, Professor Mahmoud Sir Al-Khatim Al-Houry, announced the postponement of the start of the 2022-2023 school year in the country until the second of next October.
This came in a press statement after the meeting of the Social and Cultural Development Sector in the Council of Ministers, explaining that the postponement of the start of the school year came due to the circumstances surrounding the states affected by torrential rains and floods, in order to allow them to put in place the required treatments for the schools affected by the floods, which amount to about (623) schools.
In its meeting, the sector reviewed a report on preparations for the academic year 2022-2023, and the Ministry of Education’s plan for the year 2022, which aims to accept all children of school age, complete the intermediate stage, develop technical education and expand technical education, as well as develop curricula, construct and rehabilitate schools and improve the environment.
