Ministry of Justice: Assignment of advisers to represent the defence of insolvent citizens

Hoida Ali Awad al-Karim of the Ministry of Justice, issued a decision mandating consultants with grades from a consultant to a second consultant to represent the defence in court files transmitted to the Ministry of Justice – Legal Aid Department.

This decision is based on article 8 (1) of the Law on the Organization of the Ministry of Justice, read together with article 52 (6) of the Constitutional Document for the Transitional Period of 2019, article 135 of the Criminal Procedure Law of 1991 and the conventions binding on States to provide legal aid ratified by the Sudan.

The Ministry stated that the issuance of this decision was due to the steady increase in the number of civil communications and proceedings in which insolvent citizens needed legal and judicial aid. According to shouting

The same situation will be studied in the states to disseminate the resolution to the states if necessary.
