President of South Sudan’s Security Adviser arrives with a written letter from President Salvaker of the Sovereign Council
The President of the Republic of South Sudan’s Security Adviser, Mr. Tut Qalwak, arrived with a written letter from President Salvaker Miardet to the President of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdul Fatah al-Burhan, regarding bilateral relations and ways to develop them between the two countries.
He was received at Khartoum airport by the Minister for Foreign Affairs in charge of Ambassador Ali Sadik and the Secretary-General of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Mohammed Ghali Ali Yusuf.
In a press release at the airport, Chancellor Tut Qalwak explained that he would discuss during the visit with the country’s officials Issues of mutual interest include issues of peace in the two countries as well as joint cooperation in the economic and political fields The visit was aimed at ensuring the implementation of the Juba Agreement for Peace in the Sudan. and to inform the Sudanese leadership of the progress made by the parties in the State of South Sudan; In the course of the implementation of the revitalised Juba Agreement, as the Sudan is a guarantor of its implementation, It is overseen by the Vice-President of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo. in the aftermath of the progress made in the compact forces’ decoupling file.
He added that among the issues he will discuss with the officials of the country is the issue of joint economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, including arrangements for opening borders to facilitate the flow of trade, noting that the Minister of Finance of the State of South Sudan, accompanied by him, will discuss with a counterpart in the Sudan details of the aspects of joint economic cooperation.
The President of South Sudan’s Adviser on Security Affairs added that one of the objectives of the visit was to check the situation in the Sudan, especially in view of the political mobility in the Sudanese arena. The stability of the situation in the Sudan and South Sudan is indivisible because of the close association between the two countries.
Tut Qalwak announced that he would meet during the visit, Mr. President and Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereign Council.
