President of the Sovereign Council briefs on the results of the Commission’s visit to Western Darfur State
The President of the Transitional Sovereign Council briefed General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on the results of the visit of the delegation of the Sovereign Commission to Western Darfur and the efforts made to address the situation in the State following recent events.
This came during his meeting today with the Committee’s delegation headed by Sovereign Council member Dr. Abdelbaki Abdelkader in the presence of Defence Minister General Yas Ibrahim Yas Corner.
In a statement to the press, the member of the Sovereign Council said that the Commission had been established under the direct guidance of the Sovereign Council and the Security and Defence Council to consider the overall situation in Western Darfur and the urgent needs of those affected by the events in the state. She visited juvenile sites in El Geneina and Crink Local and observed the nature of the events in the area. A member of the sovereign said that the main objective of the Committee’s composition was to identify and submit a comprehensive report on the security, humanitarian and health conditions of the mandate.
Dr. Abdelbaki said that the health situation was controlled through the efforts of health teams in treating the injured and injured and providing health aids to those affected. He stressed that these events have found a growing interest in the leadership of the State and expressed his hope for the sustainability of peace and stability in the country.
