Renewed clashes in Kordofan, western Sudan
In the west of the country, local sources said that the forces of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement ” – Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu North Wing” continued their attack on the “Umm Barmbita” area, west of the city of Dilling in the state of South Kordofan.
The fierce fighting was renewed yesterday, Saturday, between the army and the SPLM, and the two sides used heavy weapons, which led to the displacement of hundreds of citizens from the region towards the cities of “Abu Karshola” in South Kordofan and “Al-Rahad” in North Kordofan state.
The city of El-Obeid has been witnessing violent clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces since the outbreak of the war in mid-April.
