Strengthening economic relations between the Sudan and Turkey
The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning met Dr. Djibril Abrahim, Turkish Minister of Trade Omar Polad in Istanbul, discussed economic and trade issues between the two countries.
The meeting ensured strong bilateral trade and economic relations between the two countries and stressed the importance of strengthening these relations to increase the volume of trade between the two countries.
The Ministers stressed the need to activate trade agreements between the Sudan and Turkey and encourage Turkish companies to enter into all fields of agricultural and industrial investment in the Sudan and take advantage of the distinctive geographical location of the Sudan. The Sudan considers Africa’s gateway to the East to the world.
The two parties agreed to convene a Sudanese-Turkish trade economic forum in April in Ankara, preceded by a ministerial meeting to discuss how to operationalize the terms of trade agreements between the two countries.
