The Vice-President of the Sudan Sovereign Council is keen to develop his relations with Italy
The Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, reaffirmed Sudan’s desire to develop and strengthen its relations with Italy in all fields in order to achieve their common interests.
During his meeting with his office in the Republican Palace, Ambassador Gianluigi Vassallo of the Republic of Italy in Khartoum on the occasion of the end of his tenure in the country, he valued Italy’s continued efforts to support the stability of the Sudan, pointing to the strategic and fruitful cooperation between the two States in the areas of combating illegal migration and in the health and humanitarian spheres.
Lieutenant General Dagalo called on Italy and the international community to continue supporting the Sudan and its people to complete the process of democratization, noting that the Sudan is open to all States of the world in its relations based on mutual respect and mutual interests.
Ambassador Gianluigi Vassallo, on his part, expressed his appreciation to the Government and people of the Sudan for their cooperation and respect throughout his tenure in Khartoum. He stressed that it was a unique experience that witnessed a significant development in relations between the two countries.
He noted that his country had allocated about a quarter of a million euros to support those affected by Sudan’s humanitarian disasters.
