Political consultations between Moscow and Khartoum
Today, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the work of the tenth session of the Political Consultation Committee between the Foreign Ministries of Sudan and Russia.
Sudanese side was headed by Dafallah Al-Hajj Ali, Under Secretary of State, while the Russian side was headed by Mikhail Bogdanov; Russian Deputy Foreign Minister in the presence of the delegations of the two countries.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the session reviewed ways to develop joint bilateral relations in various political, economic, cultural, educational, training and human capacity-building fields, by resuming and revitalizing the joint working mechanisms represented by the Political Consultation Committee between the Foreign Ministries and the Ministerial Economic and Trade Committee headed by the Ministers of Minerals and Natural Resources in the two countries during the period coming.
The meeting also touched on the completion of the ratification procedures by the Sudanese and Russian sides of the agreement on mutual exemption of entry visas for holders of diplomatic passports in the two countries, which will enter into force within the coming days.
It was also agreed to enhance cooperation between the two countries at the United Nations and other international forums.
The session dealt with internal developments in Russia and Sudan, where Al-Hajj presented an enlightenment on the developments of the current political situation in Sudan, and the quest to achieve political accord that would lead the transitional period in Sudan to free and fair elections.
During the session, they exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of concern to the two countries, in addition to addressing the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and its impact on the world, and ways to find peaceful solutions to it.
