This morning, the Egyptian capital, Cairo, began the work of the Sudanese Joint Trade Committee at the technical level. The Sudanese side was headed by Mr. Issa Tidayat Shatter, undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Catering.
The Commission’s work explores ways to enhance trade and the challenges facing trade between the two fraternal countries, and operationalizes business mechanisms to expand trade cooperation to various sectors, especially agriculture and industry.
The Commission’s agenda also includes examining ways to activate the role of the Sudanese-Egyptian Businessmen’s Council and the commercial centres between the two countries.
The Sudan participates in the Committee’s work with a specialized technical delegation comprising the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Trade, Finance and Economic Planning, the Central Bank of the Sudan, the Customs Authority and the Confederations of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
