The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning meets the Regional Director of FAO

Dr. Djibril Ibrahim, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, met with the Regional Director of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Baba Ghana Ahmadou, today.

The Minister of Finance stressed the need to pay attention to good preparation and timely production inputs, stressing the need to establish laboratories to provide vaccines in the field of livestock, especially since the Sudan has a large and good livestock.

Baba Ghana revealed a number of programmes to train citizens on the cultivation and production of Arabic gum and farmers’ training in sesame cultivation and to generate improved seeds to improve productivity, revealing support for farmers to buy banana seeds to grow in large areas for export.

For his part, the Minister of Finance noted the importance of coordination between the Sudan and the Organization to provide support for the cultivation of wheat, sesame and peanuts.
