Conclusion of the Islamic Solidarity Session in the Turkish city of Konya
Yesterday evening, Thursday 18th August, the curtain came down on the events of the Islamic Solidarity Session hosted by the Turkish city of Konya, which spanned more than two weeks.
The 15 July Stadium attended the closing ceremony of the tournament by honoring a number of members of the Turkish government.
The Secretary of the Sudanese Olympic Committee, Prof. Mahmoud Al-Ser, participated in the ceremony. The closing ceremony included several interesting and varied paragraphs, most notably a screening line for participating States alongside fireworks, a Sahir ceremony and words from the tournament’s organizing committee.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Faisal, Minister of Sport, Chairman of the Saudi Olympic Committee and President of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation, addressed the audience, setting out the gains of the technical and administrative tournament.
Referring to the large gathering of participating countries and its impact on the exchange of cultures, he thanked the Government of Turkey in the foremost of which was President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his hospitality and reception.
The tournament was attended by the Sudan with eight federations for various activities.
