Visiting Saudi investors delegation discusses investment opportunities in Central Darfur

Dr. Abdelaziz Mursal Shadow, Minister of Finance of the Government of the Darfur Region, representative of the Governor of the Territory, revealed the territorial Government’s vision of moving towards the provision of agricultural services in both animal and plant areas and their endeavour to establish transformative industries, vegetable and fruit industry and freezing, as well as their focus on slaughterhouses and cement.

Central Darfur has considerable agricultural potential and potential for establishing fruit canning plants and investing in tourism to attract tourists from home and abroad.

This came during the joint meeting of the Government of Central Darfur and the delegation of Saudi investors visiting the state in the presence of the Minister of Finance of the Darfur Region, the representative of the Governor of the Province and the Governor of Southern Darfur in charge of yesterday evening’s local presence west of Jebel Marra Nartti.

He added that the visiting delegation had multiple experiences in various investment areas and welcomed the visit of the Saudi investors’ delegation to the Darfur region.

The Central Darfur Governor, Mr. Saad Adam Babiker, asserted that the State of Central Darfur has opened the field of investment in all fields to investors, enumerating the investment opportunities and possibilities that exist in the state, noting that any investment work in one of the Darfur states is a benefit to the entire Qalim.

Mr. Saad confirmed that the meeting with the visiting Saudi investment delegation and the territorial government discussed the map of the investment mandate in agriculture, livestock and mining along with energy and road projects.

He noted that the visit of the Saudi delegation included targeted sites for investment from the tourist areas of Jebel Marra as well as horticultural sites.

The Government of the Sudan, Saudi Arabia and the territorial Government, under the chairmanship of the Governor of the Territory, Mr. Minni Arco Minawi, commend the Government of Central Davor for providing the Saudi investing delegation with the opportunity to see the investment opportunities available in the state.

Fawaz al-Qadaibi, head of the visiting Saudi investment delegation, explained that there are real opportunities to invest in Central Darfur and expressed the hope that a memorandum of understanding between them and the government of Central Darfur state in all areas of investment will be signed through the agenda and meetings between the two sides.

Fawaz added that this visit was the third after the visit of El Fasher and Nyala and also showed his surprise at the beauty of nature in the city of Nirtti, appreciating the role of the Government of the Sudan and the Darfur region for the facilities provided to them in mobility to explore investment opportunities.
