Global support for AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria supports the Ministry of Health with $197 million
I received the Federal Minister of Health. Hitham Mohamed Ibrahim in the Ministry’s Grand Hall is a delegation from the Global Support Programme to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria from Geneva led by Mr. Kontaine Dhumven, accompanied by the Country Expert Group.
In the presence of public administrators and with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Secretary-General, the National Council for Medicines and Toxins and the Director of the National Fund for Medical Supplies, as well as the Director of the country’s coordination mechanism.
The Federal Minister of Health explained the importance of combating malaria as a top priority in the health strategy, noting that the Sudan was one of the first signatories of the WHO Initiative from (most of the burden to most of the impact), stating that the support given by the global support $145 million to fight the three diseases and strengthen the health system is marked for the continuity of global support despite the country’s complex situation.
The Minister commended the global support response and support needed to address the coronavirus pandemic and his continued support for the Sudan to continue to fight the three malaria, tuberculosis and AIDS diseases worth $52 million.
Referring to the details of his visit to the States to determine the health situation, he noted the large burden on the health system from the arrival of refugees and recommended that support should be allocated to ensure the continuity and quality of services provided in camps and host communities.
For its part, the Sudan Global Support Portfolio Manager explained the importance of reports in sustaining the flow of support, most notably local resource reports and government health funds.
During his visit he will meet with the Ministry of Finance to agree on the optimal way to continue fighting the three diseases.
