Meeting of the African Economic Commission in Khartoum
The office of the African Economic Commission for North Africa (ECLAC) will hold a two-day workshop at the Rotana Peace Hotel in Khartoum in partnership with the National Council for Population in the Sudan at 8 a.m. on national capacity development, high-level policy and dialogue on employment and job creation in the Sudan.
The workshop discusses the main findings of the ECA regional report on best practices in job creation lessons from Africa, published in 2021.
The workshop aims to build national capacities in the field of employment, create jobs and share knowledge about best practices in employment, promote stakeholders’ understanding of changing employment and labour market conditions and contribute to the placement of employment opportunities especially for women and young people on the basis of national policy and action priorities during the Sudan transition period.
The workshop also benefits policymakers and senior managers from the Ministries of Labour, Administrative Reform, Public Education, Higher Education, Industry, Trade, Finance, Agriculture, Natural Resources, Social Development and Sport, as well as representatives of the private sector and civil society.
