Ministry of Animal Resources praises IGAD technical support to Animal Identification and Tracking Program
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Animal Resources Dr. Hassan Al-Tom Abdullah has praised the technical and logistical support provided by the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) in Eastern Africa to the Animal Identification and Tracking Program and its contribution to the implementation of the joint activities of the epidemiological survey project in Sudan.
This came during the meeting held at the Ministry of Animal Resources to evaluate the animal identification and tracking program in Sudan and to discuss the joint activities that are being implemented between the epidemiological survey project and IGAD, in the presence of the Director of the Animal Resources Department at the IGAD Center for Pastoral Areas and Animal Resources Development and other officials.
Dr. Abdullah called for the integration of roles, concerted efforts and coordination between his ministry and the IGAD Center for Pastoral Areas and Animal Resources Development by setting strategic plans that contribute to the success and implementation of the projects. He stressed the need to develop and update strategies for epidemic diseases affecting trade.
The Director of the Animal Resources Department at the IGAD Center for Pastoral Areas and Animal Resources Development Dr. Ameha Sebsibe stressed his technical and logistical support for the Animal Identification and Tracking Program in Sudan at the national and regional levels until to the stage of implementation for animal health and the increase and development of animal resources exports.
