Sudan gold production in 2022 amounted to 41.8 tons
Director General of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Engineer Mubarak Abdel-Rahman Ardol has announced that the country’s total gold production for the year 2022 amounted to 41.8 tons, while revenues amounted to about SDG150 billion, representing 75% of the projected sum.
Engineer Ardol explained at the regular press forum of the Ministry of Culture and Information that the company implemented during the past year some 79 projects for social responsibility and carried out 93 missions for supervision and control, indicating that the revenues were distributed to five agencies top of them Ministry of Finance.
He pointed out that the country’s exports of minerals for the same year amounted to about two billion dollars, representing 47% of the country’s total exports.
Ardol pointed out that the exploration companies numbered 107 companies, while the development ones stood at 44 companies, indicating that the area of exploited blocks represents only 9% of the country’s area, while small mining companies amounted to 90 firms, and that the rate of companies’ commitment to environmental requirements amounted to 74%.
Ardol reviewed projects that the company intends to implement, represented in converting traditional mining into small mining projects, in addition to gathering miners into productive associations and improving work environment in markets.
