40 United Nations aid trucks arrive in three Sudanese states
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced that more than 40 trucks carrying 1,600 tons of food reached three Sudanese states, Kassala, El Gedaref and White Nile between July 22-27.
The United Nations said in a bulletin on its official website that UNODC had also coordinated the movement of five additional trucks towards Western Kordofan State carrying 300 tons of relief items.
Since May 22, more than 780 trucks carrying 35 thousand tons of humanitarian aid have reached locations across the Sudan.
In the Darfur region, WFP has provided food and nutrition assistance to more than 450 thousand people in Central, Eastern, Northern and Southern Darfur states since the start of hostilities there, according to the UN Bulletin
WFP’s assistance, in cooperation with the Sudanese Red Crescent, is currently reaching internally displaced persons as a result of the conflict in the eastern Darfur region of Alferdos.
