“50” Rocket from southern Lebanon.. The most violent attack on Israel from the start of the war
On Thursday, areas of northern Israel are witnessing intense bombardment from Lebanese territory, continuing tensions in the border area between the two countries.
Israeli army radio described the bombing as “the most violent since the beginning of the war,” citing the “firing of at least 50 rockets from Lebanon towards the upper Galilee”.
The border area in southern Lebanon has witnessed an escalating military escalation between Israel and Hizbullah, since Hamas launched an unprecedented offensive against Israel on October 7.
Thursday, Hizbullah announced that its Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah, had received Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hussein Amir Abdullahian, who was visiting Lebanon.
A party statement said the officials reviewed “the latest developments in Palestine, Lebanon and the region, the prospects around the course of events and efforts to stop Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip”
Since the cross-border escalation began, 107 people have died in Lebanon, including 75 Hizbullah fighters, and 14 civilians, including 3 journalists, according to an AFP tally.
For its part, the Israeli authorities reported 9 deaths, including 3 civilians.
On Wednesday night, Hezbollah announced the death of 5 of its fighters, including Abbas, the son of its parliamentary bloc, MP Mohammed Ra ‘ad, after Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon.
