Assassination of Salah al-Arouri, Hamas Deputy Chief

Salah al-Arouri, the Deputy Chief of Hamas’ Political Bureau, was assassinated yesterday evening in the southern suburbs of Beirut along with two leaders of the Al-Qassam Brigades, as a result of a missile strike.

Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas, mourned al-Arouri and praised his achievements, stressing that the resistance will continue to move forward towards the liberation of Palestine and that this will not deter or break their will and steadfastness.

Palestinian factions also issued a statement declaring a national day of mourning, a general strike, and revolutionary action in all arenas and fronts.
