Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Muslims in his country by Eid al-Adha, praising their role in social reform.

Putin said: “We are pleased that the Muslim community of Russia is actively involved in the life of the country and pays constant attention to the implementation of philanthropic and educational initiatives, raising awareness and raising the younger generation in the spirit of respect for tradition and ancestral customs.

Putin noted that the activity of the Muslim community is very important for maintaining peace among nationalities and reconciliation in society, according to a statement by the Russian presidency (Kremlin) on Saturday.

Putin added: Eid al-Adha, which symbolizes the end of the pilgrimage to ancient holy places, carries a deep moral and spiritual meaning and serves the unity of people and the preservation of lasting values of love, goodness and compassion, wishing Russia’s Muslims health, happiness, success and prosperity.
