Khartoum hosts extraordinary meeting of IGAD foreign ministers
Tomorrow, Khartoum hosts the meeting of the IGAD Foreign Ministers’ Conference
The conference, which will continue on “Tuesday and Wednesday”, discusses the security and stability of the Sudan.
Sources noted the importance of the Sudan to its geopolitical status of its resources and the continuity and engagement of the Heads of State of the region during the Sudan’s current presidency of the Regulations.
The IGAD Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Khartoum is the first since the Sudan assumed the IGAD presidency in 3 years.
The importance of the meeting, according to informed sources, stems from the fact that it will discuss the issue of the Sudan’s road map for the operationalization of the work of the Organization.
The meeting will also consider the Sudan’s IGAD Food Security Initiative as well as issues related to internal issues, including the peace of the State of South Sudan, the peace agreement signed in Ethiopia, the political process and the role of IGAD in supporting the Sudan.
Member States in regional and international forums and entering into non-traditional partnerships.
