Sudan and Turkey Sign Agricultural and Animal Production MoU
Sudan and Turkey signed , at the Presidential Palace in Ankara, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on joint cooperation in the fields of developing agricultural and animal production, manufacturing industries and raising the level of trade exchange and cooperation in the fields of oil and minerals to achieve common interests of the two countries.
The memo which was Signed by Turkish Vice – President Fuat Oktay and Sudan’s Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Osman Hussein Osman, stressed that the Turkish side prepare and implement an integrated technical study of the Al-Hawad Irrigation Scheme, from the three irrigation sources (the Nile, under -groundwater, and water harvesting in valleys).
The MoU stated that a study will be carried out in coordination with the Sudanese Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources and other concerned parties.
The agreement aimed to establish a model experimental farm in the Al-Hawad project in the fields of seeds production, developing animal production and natural pastures in order to enhance the production process for the benefit of farmers and livestock breeders within the Al-Hawad project.
