The government is discussing with the Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) debt relief obstacles this week
The Ministry of Finance intends to explore debt relief obstacles with the IMF and the International Bank during its participation in their annual meetings beginning today.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance announced the Sudan delegation’s participation in the annual meetings of the Monetary Fund and the International Bank scheduled to take place from October 10 to 16 in Washington.
The delegation of the Sudan, led by its Minister Djibril Ibrahim, “discusses during the meetings obstacles to addressing the country’s debt and opportunities to benefit from forgiveness initiatives”.
The delegation would examine the country’s economic developments and reforms and its technical aid needs.
The Ministry of Finance expected the Sudanese delegation to meet with Arab, regional and international financial institutions and to hold joint meetings with finance ministers and central bankers of members of the Bank and the Monetary Fund.
