The World Health Organization warns against the use of contaminated baby medicines

The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a warning against the use of four types of children’s tassel drugs due to contamination:
Promethazine Oral Solution, Kofexmalin Baby Cough Syrup, Makoff Baby Cough Syrup, and Magrip N Cold Syrup .

In a press circular, the National Council of Medicines and Toxins confirmed that the above preparations were not registered with the National Council of Medicines and Toxins’ records.

According to WHO warnings of 6/10/2022, the above preparations manufactured by Maiden Pharmaceuticals Limited contain Ethylene glycol & diethylene glycol in quantities greater than the allowable limit, resulting in the death of 66 children in the Gambian continent of Africa.

The Council’s Pharmaceutical Safety Centre will therefore follow up on the latest global updates in order to ensure the safety of citizens.
