AOAD participates in the International Palm Mite Control Program
From November 23-24, 2022, the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development participated in the meeting of the Steering Committee of the International Programme to Combat Red Palm Sousse organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Aswan, Egypt.
The meeting was held to assess the performance of the six substantive groups and to clarify their progress in the implementation of their mandated tasks during 2020. – 2022 The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) submitted and reviewed the final report of the study of the economic and social effects of the red palm sousse. The organization leads the group for this study and is responsible for the implementation of the basic survey of the economic and social effects of the programme’s red palm sousse.
The attendees commended the organization’s study report and its efforts in providing indicators on the economics of red palm sousse that were not previously available in the Arab States and requested a number of organizations, including ICARDA and CIHEAM Bari, to provide them with the necessary data to benefit from them.
