OIC participates in the World Day of Solidarity with Palestine
On Tuesday, the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) participated in the commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
The Union called on the world’s free nations and peoples to continue solidarity with the Palestinians in order to realize their legitimate rights in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy, the Arab Peace Initiative, the principles of human rights and the Charter of the United Nations.
The General Supervisor of Palestinian Official Media, His Excellency Minister Ahmed Assaf, warned of the dangers of continuing settlement policies, land confiscation and property destruction. He stated that the Palestinian leadership was fighting a political, diplomatic and legal battle at all levels to take away our people’s rights, condemn the Israeli occupation and seek to punish it for all its crimes against our Palestinian people.
Ambassador Maher Karki, Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), stressed that the commemoration of the Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which takes place 74 years after the 1948 Nakba and 55 years after the occupation of 1967, is a reminder to the world and free peoples of the violations and systematic aggressions suffered by the Israeli occupation authorities.
The Director-General-in-Charge of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) News Agencies Union also invited Mr. Mohammed bin Abdulbah Al-Yami to participate in the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in order to draw the international community’s attention to the justice of the Palestinian cause and to seek to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian State and to expose the crimes of the occupying authorities against the Palestinian people.
