UAE and Ethiopia sign agreement to develop solar project
The UAE and Ethiopia signed an agreement to develop a solar photovoltaic project on the sidelines of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia attending the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Abiy Ahmed witnessed the signing of an agreement between Masdar of the United Arab Emirates and the Ethiopian Government to develop a 500 MW solar photovoltaic project at first stage with a view to developing up to 2,000 MW of similar projects within Ethiopia.
The agreement was signed by UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber and Ethiopian Minister of Finance Ahmed Chadi.
Earlier, the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received at the Beach Palace Abiy Ahmed. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop and promote them for the benefit of the two countries and their friendly peoples.
